Denny Henrichs – Rhythm Guitar – Vocals

Denny was born and raised on a farm near Donnelly in west central Minnesota. He attended a one-room country school through the 6th grade – a unique and positive experience that in many ways helped to shape who he is today.

After graduating from Morris High School and the U of M, Morris, he took a teaching position in Crosby-Ironton. He retired after a rewarding 34 years of teaching Spanish and Social Studies.

He and his wife LuAnn have two children and 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He loves spending time with them and being involved in their busy lives. He enjoys the outdoors, gardening and woodworking.

Denny grew up on “old time” music. Since they didn’t have a T.V., many evenings were spent either listening to the radio (the Grand Ole Opry was a favorite) or singing many of the old standards accompanied by his mother on the piano. As a teen he joined the church choir and eventually came to sing solos in church and at a few weddings.

He taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 13 and he played and sang off an on through his teen years. Then his career and family began taking most of his time and he put down his guitar.

Although he has sung in the church choir for many years he didn’t pick up his guitar again until the Churchyard opportunity came along. It rekindled a new joy in playing and singing many of the old songs he grew up with. He has enjoyed being a part of Churchyard and sharing their gospel music with others.

It has been truly amazing and rewarding to see the positive impact of God’s message through song.
